Daytona Fishing Charters & Trips

When You're Vacationing in Central Florida Go Outdoors...

Sunday December 17, 2017

Charter fishing on Florida's east coast near Daytona Beach and it's intra-coastal Waterway near Ponce Inlet and the Mosquito Lagoon is always an enjoyable way to spend the day when your vacationing and looking for fun activities.

Whether you're a novice or an expert angler, there's always something in Florida to catch it in the briny saltwater lagoons and ocean. During the cooler season when the wind is blowing and the temperatures are down, the inshore fishing for red fish and sea trout are a great retreat from the beach.  When the heat comes on in the spring and summer the ocean is the place to be for king mackerel, cobia and mahi as warm Florida sunshine pulls anglers offshore in pursuit larger game fish.

Daytona Beach and it's surrounding areas are traditional spring break destinations for vacationing college students after the holidays. Florida is a safe alternative for the Central American and European tourist as it's attractions are trusted and visited by millions each year. Minutes from Orlando's theme parks and St. Augustine's historical forts and cobblestone roads, Daytona offers everything for the traveling fisherman and his companions wanting to take a few days to stop and enjoy the outdoors and some city life too.

Within a few minutes you can be fishing the famous Indian River Lagoon known for sight fishing redfish and topwater trout action. If an angler is lucky the coveted slam or even the grand slam of inshore fishing can be obtained in one given day with snook, sea trout, tarpon and red fish offering the most angling action one can endure.

Offshore Fishing
Ambitious anglers and their companions will want to try their hand at reeling in some heavy weights like king mackerel with it's blistering speed or the tasty cobia and it's powerful long fights in the Atlantic Ocean. Most charters will launch directly out of Port Canaveral only a short drive from the Daytona area. The Central Florida area is famous for Cape Canaveral and the Canaveral Shoreline where Kennedy Space Center launches space shuttles and rockets over the deep abyss of the Gulf Stream and Atlantic.

When is the best time to fish in Daytona?

It's odd and convenient, but Daytona's spring fishing is as consistent as it's college students from February till April. The summer can produce awesome fishing offshore opportunities and the spring is a good mix for both inshore and ocean fishing. Daytona's fall can still produce great fishing, but the combination of winds, weather make the autumn time of the year less welcoming unless you happen to arrive between fronts consider being flexible with this transitional season.
